Man charged with attempted murder after triple stabbing in Wigton

A 49-year-old man has appeared in court, charged with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in Wigton on Wednesday.

Richard Moulton, 49, from Station Road in the town made a brief appearance at Carlisle Magistrates Court.

He's accused of stabbing two members of the public in Wigton. The men are still in hospital. He's also charged with possessing two kitchen knives and assaulting a woman, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on the 30th of August.

The incident happened on Wednesday 31 July in Wigton.

Two men were assaulted on King Street.

One man remains in a serious condition in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, while the other has non-life-threatening injuries and is in a stable state in Preston.

A woman was assaulted on Church Street, she was treated locally by the North West Air Ambulance Service.
