Cheers and applause rung around Northampton General Hospital on Monday for Jeremy Clough, who has finally been discharged after four months inside.

Jeremy, from Earls Barton, was admitted in March with coronavirus, sepsis and pneumonia.

He spent 110 days on an intensive care ward, including a spell in an induced coma; the 47-year-old has muscular dystrophy and at one point his family were told to expect the worst.

ITV Anglia covered Jeremy's story when he was moved out of intensive care, at which point his sister said his recovery had been "an absolute miracle".

After a couple of weeks on another ward, he has now been taken to a rehabilitation unit in Leamington Spa.

He was cheered out of the hospital by dozens of staff, some of whom can be heard saying "good luck Jeremy" as he is wheeled past.
