Daily coronavirus deaths in hospitals in the Anglia region at highest for more than a fortnight

The NHS reported on Thursday that 11 more patients had died with Covid-19 in the Anglia region which was the highest daily figure since the start of July.

The total number of patients dying in the hospitals in the Anglia region is 4,125 and the total number of deaths in all settings, including care home, hospices and in the community as well as in hospitals is 5,951.

The total figure includes people who have died without a positive test for Covid-19 but where the condition was declared on death certificates.

The patients died the following hospitals and NHS Trusts:

  • Basildon Hospital

  • Bedford Hospital

  • East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Trust, which runs Colchester and Ipswich hospitals

  • Southend Hospital

The NHS reported on Wednesday that eight patients had died in the Anglia region and on Tuesday the number was six.

The Anglia region consists of the East of England counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk plus Northamptonshire and the unitary area of Milton Keynes.
