How hard has the coronavirus pandemic hit every county in the Anglia region?
The number of people dying with coronavirus is continuing to fall in the Anglia region but some areas are hit harder than others.
The weekly deaths have declined for the eleventh consecutive week in the area with 61 deaths recorded in the latest week to 3rd July, which is down from 74 the previous week. However in Bedfordshire the number of people dying in the same two weeks increased from 7 to 13.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has issued the latest information on people dying with coronavirus or with coronavirus mentioned on the death certificate. It reveals that 5,885 have died in the Anglia region since the the start of the pandemic.
The ONS is the most reliable single source of data as it relies on the registrations of deaths but that means there is a delay in the information coming through. So the latest ONS statistics cover the period up to 3rd July.
There is more recent information also available.
The Care Quality Commission says 16 additional care home residents in the Anglia region had died in the week to 10th July. The NHS has also reported that 34 patients have died in hospitals in the region between 4th and 11th July.
