Spot the film location near you in the latest David Copperfield movie

Among the stars of a new film based on Charles Dickens' novel, David Copperfield, are some the grandest buildings in the East of England.

Leading actor, Dev Patel, was at the premiere of The Personal History of David Copperfield on Wednesday ahead of the general release of the film in the New Year.

The film is a very modern take on an old classic.

The eagle-eyed in the cinema auditorium will be able to spot the historic Customs House in King's Lynn in Norfolk.

Several scenes filmed on Bury St Edmunds' stunning Angel Hill and at the Angel Hotel, where Charles Dickens stayed on three occasions in 1835, 1859 and 1861.

Dickens also included The Angel in The Pickwick Papers. The main character Samuel Pickwick arrives in the town and stays at the hotel.

Weybourne on the North Norfolk coast is also featured in the film.

Bringing Dickens' humour to the big screen are other big names like Peter Capaldi, Ben Wishaw, Hugh Laurie and Tilda Swinton.

It was director Armando Iannucci's job to bring Victorian England to life.
