Audience brought to tears as daughter of 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin wins Dancing with the Stars
The 17-year-old daughter of 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin has won Dancing with the Stars with an emotional performance dedicated to her father who died in 2006.
As she took to the floor with her dancing partner Derek Hough, she went on to win the final of the reality TV show on Tuesday night.
The duo triumphed with a perfect score of 30 points for their final routine that brought tears from the audience.
Bindi has followed her father in working as a television presenter and a conservationist, but has wowed viewers over the past three months with her dancing flair.
On Tuesday, Bindi posted Instagram the last family photo with her father before he died.
Her dad Steve, who became known as the 'Crocodile Hunter', died in 2006 when a stingray stuck a barb in his heart.
Her final performance was dedicated to his memory.
Mum Terri Irwin also tweeted a photo of her daughter sitting on her dad's shoulders.
The duo danced quickstep to Dr Bones, by Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, before breaking out with a freestyle dance to Footprints in the Sand, by Leona Lewis.
The show tweeted a video of the performance:
They were up against Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his partner, Sharna Burgess, and soldier, Alek Skarlatos, and his partner, Lindsay Arnold.
