Trim turkey sausage rolls
Sally Bee has been teaching our dieters about a healthy breakfast, but what about the period of time between breakfast and lunch? She joins Lorraine in the kitchen with some simple low fat snack ideas, including these sinless sausage rolls, which are only 110 calories each, compared to 240-400 calories in a normal one.

Ingredients
1 x pack ready rolled light puff pastry 380g lean turkey mince2 shallots, peeled and finely choppedZest of 1⁄2 lemon1⁄2 tsp cinnamon1⁄2 tsp mixed herbsFresh parsley finely, choppedSalt and pepper, to tasteSprinkle of paprika (optional)1 egg, beaten
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 180 ̊ C and prepare a baking tray by lining with non-stick baking parchment
In a large bowl, mix together the turkey mince, finely chopped shallots, cinnamon, mixed herbs and chopped parsley (you'll probably need to use your hands to do this)
Add a little freshly ground black pepper and a small pinch of salt (If you like a spicy flavour you can also add a sprinkling of paprika)
Now, lay the sheet of ready prepared puff pastry out on the baking sheet and brush all over with the beaten egg
Take a handful of the turkey mixture and roll it together into a sausage shape. Starting at one of the shorter ends of the pastry, place the meat along the edge of the pastry, leaving a 1cm gap at the edge.
Now roll the pastry over to encase the sausage, ensure that it overlaps by 1 cm and then cut down the length of the pastry with a sharp knife
This long sausage roll can be cut up into your desired sizes and placed, join down on the baking sheet Repeat this process until all the sausage rolls have been made.
Brush the sausage rolls with the remaining beaten egg and place in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked all the way through.
Top tips
When forming the turkey mixture into sausage shapes, use slightly wet hands so the meat doesn't stick.
Try to buy light puff pastry, as this is even lower in fat!
Feel free to add more spice or chopped chillis if you want to give the rolls a kick!
You can also add some pork sausage meat into this mix if you want a more traditional flavour.
