FULL STATEMENT: Chief Constable, Manchester Police: 'Significant resources deployed around Manchester'
The Chief Constable of Manchester Police has called the terrorist attack on Manchester Arena "the most horrific incident we have ever faced and one that we all hoped we would never see."
Ian Hopkins, who addressed the press in a statement this morning said that the 59 injured were being treated at eight different hospitals around the city and said that there are "significant resources deployed to both the investigation and the visible patrols that people will see across Greater Manchester."
Visible patrols include armed officers and more than 400 officers have been deployed on this operation throughout the night.
Police are appealing to members of the public for images or footage from last night that they think may assist the Police in their investigation.
