Actor Tim Downie gives a ‘horrific’ eyewitness account of the Grenfell Tower fire

A “number of fatalities” have been reported in the Grenfell Tower in West London when a fire broke out in the early hours of the morning.

Actor and writer Tim Downie, who lives close to the Tower, said he heard “sheer volumes of noise, of fire engines, of shouting and screaming.”

He added: “I’ve seen people in very high windows flashing phone lights to try and get attention.”
