'Titanic's Kate and Leo saved my life after doctors said they couldn't'

My own mum was very, very unwell and I just thought my mum would be incredibly proud of us if I could do this for another young mum. It was just amazing.

After being diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer while carrying her first child, Gemma Nuttall underwent months of agonising chemotherapy only for the cancer to return in the form of brain cancer.

With an uncertain future ahead, Gemma’s mother Helen desperately looked for alternative treatments for her daughter and after finding costly lifesaving treatment abroad, Helen fought for her daughter’s life through fundraising.

But in an unlikely turn of events, Gemma was given a second chance at life by Hollywood legend Kate Winslet with a little help from her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
