The John Wick world expands with new mini series, The Continental
What is the new series?
Fans of the Keanu Reeves’ movie franchise, John Wick, will be pleased to hear the John Wick world is expanding. A new three-part series called The Continental: From the World of John Wick is a spin off mini-series which takes place in a gritty and dangerous New York in the late 1970s that is packed full of all the stylish action the film series is known for.
The story explores the origin story behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins, The Continental, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott who is a beloved character from the films.
Who does it star?
Oscar-winner Mel Gibson takes on the role of major kingpin, Cormac and Colin Woodell plays the lead character, Winston Scott.
As the series is set about 40 years before the events of the first John Wick movie, Keanu Reeves' character isn't expected to make an appearance.
Basil Iwanyk & Erica Lee, Executive Producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee have both been involved in the John Wick films since the beginning, and are key voices for continuity bringing the franchise to the small screen with The Continental.
Sarah Arthur, Costume DesignerSarah Arthur is a double Welsh Bafta award-winning costume designer, she sourced a lot of the 70s costumes for The Continental from Portobello Road Market in London but says her biggest challenge was preparing for the stunt sequences.
