Get a 'free' tent at Decathlon

Decathlon has a ‘No Tent Left Behind’ Festival campaign, which means that when you buy an eligible tent, simply return it to Decathlon before 13th September 2024, and you'll receive a gift card equal to the tent's price to use on your next adventure. The tent must not be torn, stained or have parts missing.

Tent sizes range from a 2-man tent for £29.99, to a 4-man XXL tent for £129.99.

Volunteer for free festival tickets

Volunteer and get into festivals for free. Sites such as Festaff and Hotbox allow you to apply to work at festivals with jobs like crowd control, wristbanding or litter picking. You’ll have to work a few shifts, but the rest of the time, you can enjoy what the festival has to offer for free.

A deposit will need to be paid to secure your volunteering place, which is returned to you once you turn up and complete your shifts. For filling out a few forms, it could potentially save you £100s to see some huge artists at festivals such as Download, Leeds, Reading and more.

Free UK festivals

This Sunday 7th June is Ipswich Music Day which has 6 stages of live music, and it’s free entry all day. Edinburgh Fringe Festival is coming up in August where you can see lots of shows for free if you book ahead. There are also some quirky festivals, such as the Pontefract Liquorice Festival and The Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly. 

Malmaison Hotels £50 a night

Malmaison are offering hotel rooms on a Sunday night for £50 throughout summer, if you spend £50 in the restaurant on your evening meal. This is available on its website at locations in Birmingham, Manchester, Cheltenham, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Dundee. You must click on the offers section and select the “Sunday Kind Of Love” deal.

2 night glamping stays from £79.99 

Buyagift offers experience days over the summer which includes a “2 Night Glamping Experience For 2” for £99.99, at one of 17 locations nationwide. There’s a code on its website that gets you 20% off if you enter SUN20 at checkout. This drops the price of your 2 nights glamping to £79.99 (£40 a night). There’s also a “Two Night Hotel Break For 2” for £139 with 100+ hotels nationwide to choose from.

Save money on fuel with the petrol prices app

If you’re going for a road trip this summer, the Petrol Prices app tells you the cheapest place to fill up with fuel in your local area, by comparing the price at all fuel stations nearby for both petrol and diesel.

Getting directions to a cheaper pump could save you 5p a litre, or even 10p if you avoid motorway service stations - which could save you up to a fiver on a 50-litre tank.

Free 10-point car check for your road trip

Get a car checkup for free before a long road trip. Sign up to the Halfords Motoring Club for free on its website to unlock benefits such as; a free 10-point car check worth £15. In this 30-minute test, they check your tyres, battery health, wiper blade condition, Adblue and even top up your screenwash for free. If there’s something wrong with the car, you’re not obligated to get it from Halfords. For signing up, you get a £5 off £30 spend voucher.

‘Free’ board game worth up to £39

If you buy 4 promotional packs of Birds Eye frozen food, you can get a free board game. You should see the promotion on Birds Eye Chips, Alphabites, Chicken Dippers, Battered Fish and more - and you can buy them from any retailer, at any price, as long as there’s 4 on the same receipt. 

Submit your receipt on the Birds Eye promotional website where you can choose a board game (there’s a £3.49 delivery charge). You can choose between Monopoly, Connect 4, Trivial Pursuit, Guess Who, Operation, Bop It or Twister. If you’d normally buy Birds Eye food anyway, just keep the receipt from your shopping, and you can have a game to play while on your staycation.

West End / London shows from £7.50 each

If you’re taking a trip to the capital this summer and want to see a show - this deal makes tickets quite cheap. ‘Kids Week’ lets kids under 17 go free with each adult ticket booked on a number of big name shows. You can find these cheap tickets throughout the summer between 24th July and 6th September.

If you have little kids, one adult and one child can go to see The Gruffalo for £18, Shrek The Musical for £20 or Blippi Live for £25. Older kids could see more well-known shows such as Sister Act for £45, Les Miserables for £47.50, and Wicked for £55. Tickets are quite limited and can be found on the Official London Theatre website.
