Shivi Ramoutar’s naan bread pizzas

Shivi Ramoutar is taking an Indian takeaway classic - the humble naan bread - and transforming it into a delicious pizza! Perfect for a casual night in or something different for your little ones to try over the Easter holidays, this fusion dish is a unique way to spice up your pizza night!

Shivi’s masala naan bread pizza

Serves: 4

Ingredients

250g of grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese mix

4 fluffy naan bread (plain or garlic)

1–2 tbsp jarred jalapeño peppers, drained

½ red onion, roughly chopped

8 cherry tomatoes, halved

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

For the green chutney:

½ bunch of mint leaves

1 bunch of coriander

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp ginger purée

1 tsp sugar

1 garlic clove


Method

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/Gas Mark 6.

2. Sprinkle the cheese over the top of the naan bread.

3. Divide the jalapeños, red onion, and tomatoes across the naan breads.

4. Sprinkle over the spices.

5. Pop the pizzas into the oven and bake until the cheese is bubbling and golden, about 10-15 minutes.

6. Meanwhile, make the green chutney by blitzing all the ingredients in a blender or food processor along with 4 tablespoons of water.

7. Season the chutney to taste.

8. Serve the pizzas, generously drizzled with the green chutney.
