Paul A Young's Easter egg treats
It wouldn’t be Easter without chocolate, so who better to guide us through creating our very own Easter chocolate creations than Paul A Young!
He’s live from his kitchen at home to show us how to transform our shop-bought Easter eggs into showstopping creations, before introducing us to the ‘loaded egg’, filled with all our favourite treats.

For the chocolate cream layer:
100mls double cream1 tablespoon of chocolate spread
Method
For the decorated eggs:
1. Lay the eggs on a folded tea towel to make piping easier or place on a mug/bowl for display
2. Hand pipe a message on your egg using the melted white chocolate
3. Take some chocolate buttons and stick them to the egg with a little melted white chocolate, carefully pipe a petal flower design around the chocolate butter centre
For the loaded eggs:
1. Pick up the half egg and place the rim of the egg onto the hot baking tray to melt it slightly. Dip into sprinkles or hundreds and thousands to create a decorated rim. Now turn the egg over and melt the base of the egg so that it can be stuck onto a plate so you have an Easter egg bowl.
2. Layer one: Place the crushed mini eggs into the bottom of the chocolate egg half.
3. Layer two: In a bowl, mix the ingredients for the cookie crumb layer and spoon into the egg.
4. Layer three: In a bowl, mix the cream and chocolate spread together and whisk until stiff. Spoon into the egg.
5. Layer four: Top the loaded egg with decoration of your choice, this could be mini eggs, chocolate bunnies, favourite chocolate bars etc. Nothing is too much or too wacky. This should be fun and colourful!
