My baby was strangled by a blind cord
Amanda O'Halloran lived through every parent's nightmare when she discovered her 17-month-old baby Sophia had accidentally been strangled to death in seconds by a window blind cord.
Amanda is bravely speaking out about her heartbreak in the hope that no more parents will experience this avoidable tragedy, and campaigning for a change in the law to ban blinds with looped cords altogether. There have been 14 deaths in the UK caused by looped blind cords since 2010 and Tom Mullarkey, Chief Executive of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, is here to explain why awareness of this 'silent killer' is vital and to demonstrate the safety devices that are available to prevent loop blind cords posing a threat.
