'It's like you've been possessed' says woman with extreme sleepwalking disorder
Parasomnias are sleep disorders which cause the sleeper to engage in abnormal activities without their knowledge which can even include eating food, having sex and shopping online. Yet despite affecting 70% of us at some point, some parasomnias can be so severe that people are unconsciously risking their lives - handling sharp objects, unlocking doors, climbing out of windows, and even driving cars… all whilst totally asleep.
We speak to 32-year-old Sarah Taylor who is forced to take extreme measures to ensure her safety every night including tying herself to her bed. Alongside Sleep Scientist Dr Sophie Bostock, to find out more about what causes the disorder.
