How to tone your arms with these 5 simple exercises

Want to beat your bingo wings but not wanting to go under the knife? Shakira Akabusi joins us in the studio with a series of simple arm toning exercises that anyone can do.

Why is it important to tone our arms?

Naturally as we age our body changes and we start to put on weight in different areas. After the age of 35 our muscle mass starts to decrease so we need to keep working on building lean muscle mass. Even if you have had an arm lift, you need to keep your arms and body tones to maintain your shape and keep your physique.

Shakira's 5 simple arm exercises:

1) Tricep dips - This is an exercise that is accessible for need is a sturdy chair to hold your weight.

2) Elevated press up - Again, use the chair to place your hands for these press ups. For a more advanced exercise, flip around and place your feet on the chair and hands on the ground.

3) Half or full plank - A half plank is on your knees and is easier to do. While in the plank position, move up and down from your elbows to your hands, engaging your core.

4) Resistance band row - Tie the band around your feet and hold each side of the band, imitating a rowing motion. This is great for your back, posture and Arms.

5) Bicep curl or overhead press - Both can be done using a resistance band. They are to add definition to your arms, especially your shoulder which helps give the arm a defined look.
