Supermarket Sweep returns with a new home on ITV Daytime
Labelled one of the hardest working people in showbiz, Rylan Clark-Neal takes time out of his busy schedule to tell us about the new series of Supermarket Sweep.
And as the cult classic finds a new home on ITV Daytime, its in-demand host will also explain why he no longer cares about his looks.
This series the show will move to its original home on ITV. Rylan says: "This is such an amazing thing for us. We launched the show last year on ITV2, and they were amazing with us, but it's got a much younger audience, so all the contestants were younger, and that was the demographic they were going for. Now that we've moved to ITV, I've had contestants called Doris, Jean, Betty, the lot - I've been in my element. If we had a shopmobility bit, with scooters, we would have been laughing."
On filming as the UK came out of lockdown, Rylan says: "We are very proud as we were one of the first shows to go back into studio post-lockdown. Behind the scenes it was masks, social distancing, temperature checks, all of this - it was very, very different for us. But visually, you're not going to notice the difference. As a viewer, it doesn't look like lockdown TV and I think we need a bit of that."
