Gary Lineker will welcome a refugee to live in his home
Gary Lineker has invited a migrant to live in his Surrey mansion.
The 59-year-old football pundit recently revealed that he had signed up to the Refugees at Home programme which enables people who have spare rooms to offer them to refugees who require a place to stay.
Reacting to the news on This Morning, Nick Ferrari praised the former England footballer's decision, saying: "To put your mansion where your house is, is absolutely fantastic and let’s hope more follow example. I really hope it works because it will be massively high profile. We want to make sure it works for all parties, but it’s one thing to talk the talk, it’s another to walk the walk. Well done Gary Lineker. Better than a hat trick."
Afua Adom added: "I agree it’s brilliant that he’s done this. Footballers get a lot of criticism for living a lavish lifestyle but good on him for being an excellent footballer who is ready to step up to the plate.
The news comes Lineker was challenged by a Tory MP over 'virtue-signalling' on Twitter, after criticising the government's handling of the current migrant crisis.
