Live from the allotment - come rain or shine
More and more people are discovering the benefits of allotment gardening. You can grow your own food, get some excercise and even make a load of new friends!
We're speaking to veteran gardener Terry Walton live from his allotment in the Rhondda Valley about the joys of gardening, and growing your own veg all year round.
How to apply for an allotment
Getting an allotment can take time as waiting lists are long, but in the first instance you should contact your local authority - this will be your Parish, Town, Borough, City or District Council. Other allotment sites are provided by private landlords, including organisations like the Church of England. Hunt out your local allotment society and ask them if they know of any available plots or who manages the land which they use if it's not owned by the local authority.
