Feel Better in 5 with Dr Rangan's simple health plan

With easy workouts, stress-reducing techniques and simple activities, Dr Rangan gives us his foolproof guide to feeling better in 5!

A sample day on the Feel Better in 5 plan

1. MIND - THE 5-STEP RELEASE: Dr Rangan recommends doing a mind task in the morning to set you up for the day. “A lot of people have anxiety and my 5-step release is a writing task that can combat that. Write one thing that’s making you feel anxious, one thing you can do to help, one reason why it might be better than you think, one way to handle it, and one upside of the situation.”

2. BODY - SIMPLE SWEAT: Do star jumps (as vigorously as you like) for 30 seconds, followed by a 30 second rest. Do that five times. “This is one of the simplest exercises in the book and one a lot of women, of all ages, tell me they enjoy.”

3. HEART - TEA RITUAL: Dr Rangan believes the ‘heart’ might be the most important of the three pillars. “We’re so busy nowadays and often don’t make time for our loved ones - and even when we do we’re distracted by our phones. Every evening, my wife and I put the kids to bed and before we do anything else we make a pot of tea and just chat about our day - without any devices or distractions.”
