STARSTRUCK VOTE EXPLANATORY NOTE
ITV partnered with Lost in TV Limited to randomly select households in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands and offer them the chance to participate in the Starstruck (“Show”) vote for the seven pre-recorded episodes.
The chosen households for the virtual vote (“Chosen Households”) were asked to submit one (1) phone number to ITV that they would use to cast their vote in the Show (“Registered Number”). The Chosen Households were then sent emails containing a link to a live stream of the Show, along with instructions on how to vote and the allocated phone numbers of the three (3) contestants.
The Show was recorded from Wednesday 28 April 2021 to Thursday 13 May 2021. At the end of all the performances from the contestants for each episode, the telephone voting lines opened and the Chosen Households were prompted to vote for their favourite act by calling the relevant phone number from their Registered Number. The Chosen Households had ten (10) minutes from the opening of the vote to cast their vote.
Each Chosen Household was only able to vote once from their Registered Number for their favourite finalist. ITV did not count any votes received outside of the ten (10) minute window or from any unregistered numbers. Only one (1) vote per Registered Number was counted.
For episodes one to six (“Heats”), four (4) groups of three (3) singers performed in each episode. A panel of judges first voted for their favourite group. The three (3) singers saved by the judges competed against each other, and the act with the most Chosen Households votes went through to the final.
For the final episode, the Chosen Households voted for their favourite act from the six (6) contestants who won in the Heats, and the act with the most votes won £50,000.
Please note that the audience was different for each episode of the Show.
