Cookies are commonly used to help the user’s browsing experience and provide more information about the user’s experience and interests. This information is generally used to make content, services and advertising more relevant and useful during future visits.

Push notifications
If you choose to receive notifications your device will store that choice and we use a unique ID to deliver notifications to you. You can switch this off in your device settings at any time.
These cookies will be deleted if the App is deleted/uninstalled (although note there may be a period before Apple/iOS and/or Android decide to delete secure storage where App cookies may still be active).
Skimlinks Cookies
Sometimes when we include a link in the App, we use an affiliate link to earn income from purchases made by users who click on the link and go on to buy the product. We work with a company called Skimlinks to provide these links and they set the following cookies:
skimGUID - A unique identifier given to each device to allow log analysis and for fraud prevention. Lifetime: Deleted after 1 year. You can opt-out of this cookie here.
OPTOUT - Used to identify users who wish to opt out of the Skimlinks tracking by skimGUID. Lifetime: Deleted after 10 years.
TEST by Skimlinks - Used to confirm that your browser is able to accept cookies. Lifetime: Deleted when the browser is closed.
What information does Skimlinks collect about you, including through these cookies and how does it use this information?
If you click on an affiliate link, Skimlinks will collect and store the following information about you:
your IP addresses, from which it can determine your approximate geographical location (e.g. country or region). Skimlinks needs this information to make the affiliate links work, and to reduce fraud and identify non-human browsing patterns; and
information about the device you use to access the App, such as device type. This helps Skimlinks to ensure that they can diagnose and fix browser compatibility issues more swiftly and optimise their service to suit the preferred browsing environments.
At no time does Skimlinks know who you are, nor does Skimlinks make any attempt to try and identify you.
How long does Skimlinks retain this information?
Skimlinks retains data it collects from you for up to three years. After that it will either delete or anonymise it or, if that is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), then it will securely store your data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
How can you disable Skimlinks cookies?
If you no longer want Skimlinks to set the SkimGUID cookie you can opt-out here: https://optout.skimlinks.com/. Please note: this opt-out facility relies on a cookie being set. By visiting the link above, you acknowledge that Skimlinks will be setting and maintaining the cookie on your device in order to recognise you as an opted-out visitor. You must opt-out again if you clear that cookie from the App (see allaboutcookies.org for more information), use a different internet App, or internet browser or a different device.
Affiliate Networks
In order for referral fees and commissions to be paid, Skimlinks works with affiliate networks and other ad networks that manage the relationships between Skimlinks and the companies selling products and services. These affiliate and ad networks also use their own cookies in order to track if a sale has occurred and associate that back to the App. Skimlinks does not have control over or access to these cookies. You can find out more about these networks and their cookies here. You can learn more about cookies and your choices at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/.
Identifiers
If you download the App on a mobile device with a Google Android or Apple iOS operating system then the App may check the status of user identifiers provided by that operating system or collect certain information submitted by you when voting in polls. We will pass on that identifier and its status to permitted third parties so that you can vote in polls and for analytics purposes.
