Ten Tors Expedition

More than 2,000 teenagers are nursing sore feet and shoulders after completing the Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor. They walked between 35 and 55 miles each, using their own navigation skills and teamwork. Despite fears about the weather, the sun shone on them, as Bob Cruwys reports

Thousands of teenagers from across the South West have spent the weekend on Dartmoor, taking on one of the toughest challenges of their lives, Ten Tors. They've walked between 35 and 55 miles using only their own navigation skills and teamwork.

Two and a half thousand teenagers from across the West Country are preparing to camp on Dartmoor this evening in the annual Ten Tors challenge. They set off in perfect conditions shortly after dawn this morning. Bob Cruwys is following their progress across the moor:

Despite the nice weather, nothing is left to chance out on the moor. Two Seaking and 1 Lynx helicopter from RNAS Yeovilton are here to help move supplies, personnel and pick up any casualties.
