Stadium bans for Plymouth Argyle fans involved in Wigan disorder

Plymouth Argyle has threatened to ban fans involved in disorder at a recent match.

More than 25 Plymouth Argyle fans have had their ticketing accounts suspended after disorder at a recent match.

A number of spectators were involved in a disturbance after Wigan scored a last minute winner in their match at Home Park on November 27.

Argyle launched an investigation and have since identified 25 people who were involved.

As well as having their ticketing accounts suspended, the club has threatened to issue stadium bans.

Disorder broke out after Wigan scored a last-minute winner at Home Park.

“Internal investigations will continue, and the club is working closely with Devon and Cornwall Police to identify further individuals found to be involved in the disturbances,” the club said in an update on November 29.

“We will provide a further update once the police investigation is concluded, and write to those affected in due course to inform them of their suspension.

“Stadium bans will be issued to all identified individuals. Each ban has been calculated on a case-by-case basis, with a mixture of time-limited (2.5 years) and indefinite bans issued based on the severity of offence.”

The match ended 2-1 to Wigan, a result which saw them go second in League One.

Argyle, meanwhile, slipped to fourth after losing their third league match in a row.
