Plymouth Argyle are investigating reports of a crowd disturbance during their match against Wigan.

Plymouth Argyle are investigating reports of a crowd disturbance during their League One match against Wigan Athletic.

Clashes occurred in Home Park’s away end after Wigan scored a last-minute winner on Saturday (November 27).

The club has condemned the actions of those involved and said footage of the incident will be reviewed “as a matter of urgency”.

‘Zero-tolerance policy of this sort of behaviour’

“The club has launched an investigation into the events that occurred during our Sky Bet League One fixture against Wigan Athletic,” the club said in a statement.

Ryan Lowe's side have lost their last three league matches.

“A disturbance broke out in the Barn Park End during the closing stages of our 2-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon, and footage will be reviewed as a matter of urgency.

“Argyle is a family and fan-focused football club. Irrespective of the findings of the investigation, the club thoroughly condemns the motives of those who seek to cause trouble at Home Park, or elsewhere.

“We hold a zero-tolerance policy for this sort of behaviour, and swift and firm action will be taken against individuals found to have been responsible.”

The match ended 2-1 to Wigan, a result which saw them go second in League One.

Argyle, meanwhile, slipped to fourth after losing their third league match in a row.
