Concrete block 'deliberately' dropped on to moving traffic from footbridge in Barnstaple
The driver of a van who had his windscreen destroyed by a breeze block thrown from an overhead bridge has shown the damage done to the vehicle.
Robert Tanner was driving along the A361 North Devon Link Road with his son Tommy in the early hours of September 30 when his window was struck by the concrete block.
He has since released mobile phone footage of the impact, showing how much worse the damage could have been.
No one was injured, despite the impact the breeze block had on the hire van.
North and West Devon Police Superintendent Toby Davies has said the block was dropped deliberately on to traffic below, and the culprit must be caught.
