Hunt for ‘devil-masked’ vandal pouring acid over cars in Gloucestershire village

The masked acid attacker was caught in the act on CCTV.

A hunt is underway to catch a masked vandal who has written off six cars in 18 months in a Gloucestershire village - by pouring acid over them.

Residents in St Briavels are offering a cash reward of £2,000 for information leading to the capture of the person responsible, who has been caught on CCTV but not yet identified.

The attacks, which started 18 months ago, have so far resulted in at least six cars being written off.

As well as the acid attacks, the victims - all of whom are involved in carrying out local voluntary work - have also been sent death threats and menacing notes.

The vandal has not yet been identified.

One of the letters featured a picture of cockroaches, while another contained a sinister poem.

Victim John Burley said he “went a bit numb” when he discovered his car had been targeted.
