Dramatic moment Lyme Regis RNLI rescue teenagers swept out to sea
Two teens from the West Country have thanked RNLI volunteers who saved their lives after they jumped off a harbour wall and were swept out to sea.
Archie Woollacott, 14, from Dorset jumped off the harbour wall on the River Axe and came into danger when he was swept towards the sea.
His friend Bo Bobev, also 14, from Seaton jumped into the water to help but both found themselves struggling.
They were swept away by the current and found around 200 metres away from the river mouth.
Lyme Regis lifeboat volunteers rescued the teenagers who were both suffering the effects of the freezing water.
Team members from the Spirit of Loch Fyne pulled the boys from the water before they were taken in a coastguard helicopter to Exeter and checked over by medical experts.

Both boys are now back at home and extremely grateful to the volunteers who saved their lives.
Archie has also thanked his friend for jumping in the water after him.
Archie said: "Bo is a really good guy for helping me. I was freezing and my mum has now told me I can't go out for 10 years. I was really pleased to see the lifeboat crew."
His mum said the RNLI crew will be on their Christmas lists "forever".

Temperatures are predicted to remain high over the next few days and the RNLI is warning that sea temperatures remain low, at 10-14 Celsius.
The organisation advises: "If you get into trouble in cold water, fight the instinct to panic and float on your back until you get breathing under control." Click here for more information.
