Friends rescue injured man from sea after Cornwall cliff fall

Friends of a man who fell from a cliff in Cornwall helped save his life after they managed to pull him ashore.

Emergency services were called to reports a man had fallen from the cliffs at Bedruthan Steps, Newquay, on Saturday (June 29) around 7.30pm.

According to Newquay RNLI, the man fell about 10 metres onto a rocky ledge - injuring his pelvis - and a further five metres into a water-filled gully.

He was pulled from the sea by his friends, who climbed down to help him onto a ledge.

The man was later airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with suspected pelvic injuries.
