‘I will never forgive’ - Family of Laura Mortimer and Ella Dalby speak out on first anniversary of murder
The family of a mother and daughter from Gloucester who were murdered in their own home have said they will never forgive their killer.
Laura Mortimer and her 11-year-old daughter, Ella Dalby, were stabbed to death by Christopher Boon in May last year.
Boon, who was married to Ms Mortimer but had been asked to leave two weeks prior to the incident, was jailed for 29 years in November.
One year on from their tragic deaths, the family of Laura and Ella say they will never forgive Boon for what he did.
Laura’s mum Hilary Stinchcombe described Boon as “an absolute monster”.
During Boon’s sentencing at Bristol Crown Court in November last year, details regarding the double murder emerged.
The court heard the couple’s marriage had fallen apart after a woman contacted Laura to admit having an affair with Boon.
On the night of the murders, Boon was at the family home in Dexter War while Laura was with friends at a nearby pub.
She returned in the early hours of the morning, which is when Boon launched his attack.
Evidence gathered from the house suggested Ella was in bed at the time, but got up and intervened when she saw her mother struggling with Boon.
Kim Clements, who is Ella’s grandmother, said thinking about their deaths made her angry.
