Funeral held for mother and daughter found dead at home

A funeral has been held for a mother and daughter who were found dead at their home in Gloucester.

Mourners worn pink for the service for Laura Mortimer, 31, and Ella Dalby, 11, at Gloucester Cathedral.

Police found their bodies on Monday 28 May in Dexter Way.

They were called to the property at 4.50am where they were both described to have serious injuries. They were declared dead a short time later and a murder investigation was launched.

Her headteacher described her Ella as an enthusiastic pupil.

Ella was a pupil at Barnwood Park Arts College, who will shut their doors at lunch time to allow students and teachers to attend the funeral.

Her headteacher described her as "an enthusiastic pupil with a passion for dancing". The school has also suggested that people attending wear Ella's favourite colour-pink.

Christopher Boon has been charged with murdering Laura and Ella.
