The Cornish day centre helping dementia patients through dancing
A dementia day centre near Camborne is tackling loneliness and keeping patients active by hosting themed events to trigger memories and help clients live well for longer.
Reflections, a day centre in Tuckingmill, specialises in supporting people with dementia and memory loss, while also providing day respite for carers.
Patients with dementia are brought to the centre from all across Cornwall for a day of singing, dancing and reminiscing.
Jennifer Jenkins, manager at Reflections Day Centre, said: "We do different dressed up days throughout the year.
"Most people would be sat at home maybe not seeing anyone at all throughout the day, but when they're here they are surrounded by people and they get up and move."
A patient at the day centre told ITV News the events make her feel much less isolated.
As well as helping people with dementia and memory problems, the centre gives respite to family carers.
