Exeter City Council has revealed more details as it assesses the fire damage at the city’s Riverside Leisure Centre.

The operator cannot reopen the pool and health suite until it is declared safe.

The current worse-case scenario given to the council for completion of all works is the end of September 2018.

Assessment work has been ongoing since a major fire broke out at the leisure centre.

Intense heat from the fire affected the steel roof and destroyed protective coatings.

The non-fire damaged parts of the facility have been reopened but the pools and health suite have remained closed.
