Police release CCTV footage of stag-do man's hit-and-run

Police have released CCTV footage of a hit-and-run in Plymouth which left a man with serious injuries.

Ben McEvoy was returning home from his own stag-do in the early hours of Sunday May 28 in the West Park area of the city when he was run over.

He was left with potentially life-changing injuries six days before he was due to get married but is now recovering.

In the footage Ben appears to lie down in the road before a car ploughs into him at speed.

Police responded to reports of a man lying unconscious on Hirmandle Road at around 4.40am.

Ben suffered four fractured vertebrae, a fractured sternum and various cuts and grazes but was still able to walk down the aisle with his fiancee a week later.
