Gloucester's Eddie the Eagle recreates iconic Calgary jumps
Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards has returned to the ski jump where he first made his name during the Calgary Winter Olympics nearly 30 years ago.
The Gloucestershire ski jumper finished in last place in 1988.
But, he returned to the event on Sunday to showcase the sport and managed to successfully complete six jumps.
Hundreds turned up to cheer him on as he landed the 18-metre, 38-metre and 70-metre jumps.
Eddie's visit to Calgary comes as the city decides whether to push forward with a bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
He described Calgary’s games as “the best”, and gave them his full support.
The 53-year-old said the experience was "lovely" and said he enjoyed, 29-years-on, reaching a whole new audience and fan base.
Shortly after the Calgary Olympics, the entry requirements for ski jumping were tightened and Eddie failed to qualify for subsequent games.
After the games he wrote a book, and last year his story was immortalised in a film.
