Level crossing crash: victim who died when train ploughed into Land Rover named as Colin Cameron

A man who died after his Land Rover was struck by a train at a level crossing has been named.

Colin Cameron, 60, was hit by a Great Western Railway train at Frampton Mansell in Gloucestershire on Tuesday.

A post-mortem has revealed he died of multiple injuries.

The collision between the train and Land Rover took place at around 3.10pm on Tuesday, leaving the line between Gloucester and Swindon closed for more than 24 hours.

It has since emerged Mr. Cameron was the second man to die at the crossing since 2014.

The crossing is not manned and and people wishing to cross the line have to contact a signaller via a dedicated phone to get permission.
