Bristol City crowd favourite Lee Tomlin insists there has not been a bust-up with manager Lee Johnson.

The 28 year-old creator-in-chief has not been playing regularly in recent months and speculation regarding a fallout has gone viral.

Johnson has never called the talented forward's ability into question, rather suggesting that Tomlin's omission from the 1st eleven is down to fitness.

That assertion has now been vindicated by the player himself, who's finally taken the heat off his boss and laid the blame at his own feet.

Tomlin said "my performances have been nowhere near what I'm capable of..."

Tomlin also voiced his support for under pressure manager Lee Johnson, who was given the unequivocal backing of club owner Steve Lansdown on Monday after a club record run of eight consecutive league defeats.

Tomlin suggested the responsibility for recent results rests with the players and questioned, "why would you want to get rid of somebody so young in his career who's trying to do the right thing?"
