Bristol City owner Steve Lansdown has told ITV News that manager Lee Johnson has his "support" as they try to turn around their poor run of form.

Steve said, "Lee Johnson is head coach of Bristol City Football Club and he has the support of the board, myself and the players and the management staff."

The Robins have lost their last 8 league games and find themselves 20th in the league.

Their most recent loss was a 1-0 away defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Lansdown is optimistic for the future, and believes that the club have spent well in the last 2 transfer windows, putting them in a good position to progress higher up the Championship league table.

He said "We've built up a very strong squad , we had a very good transfer window in the summer, we've added to that with 4 new signings already in the transfer window."

"I look at that squad and I feel very confident that we have the experience in there, we have the ability in there to compete well in the Championship and to move on to the higher levels of the Championship, and i'm looking forward to those players doing it for us."
