Devon County Council has pledged an extra £100,000 to fund a scheme which includes volunteers filling minor potholes.

The pilot started earlier this year and over 200 extra holes have been repaired by Community Road Wardens.

The scheme's been piloted in 5 parishes across Devon and and now looks set to be expanded. Currently it costs more than £60 million a year to maintain the roads in the county in their current condition.

Other jobs undertaken by the volunteers include include clearing weeds and cutting grass.
