Halliwell offered to 'clear up' Becky Godden case
A jury has been shown a video interview with convicted killer Christopher Halliwell which the Prosecution says shows him making an offer to police over the murder of another young woman.
Halliwell was convicted of the murder of Sian O'Callaghan in 2011, now he is accused of the killing of Becky Godden in 2003, which he denies.
The Prosecution told the court that Halliwell offered 'to clear up' Becky's case in exchange for being left alone.
The jury were shown this video from February last year:
Halliwell said:
"I can resolve the matter but I don't want you coming back every couple of years, every five years, every ten years or whatever, with this and this and this.
"If I go to court and I'm found guilty they'll lock me up and throw away the key."
The 52 year old former taxi driver denies killing Becky Godden. The court had heard the sex worker vanished from the streets of Swindon in 2003.
He admitted the murder of Sian O'Callaghan - another Swindon woman - in March 2011.
But he told the court he denies the charge of Becky's murder.
Last week, the court heard that Halliwell was a regular client of Becky's and became besotted with her.
