Euro 2016: Somerset man jailed in connection with football violence

This weekend saw violence break out between England and Russia fans in Marseille, which escalated into the Stade Velodrome, after the two teams drew their first Euro 2016 match.>A number of arrests were made, including a 23-year-old man from Somerset. He appeared in court this afternoon (13 June).>Lee Phillips from Taunton has been jailed for a month and has been banned from France for two years for throwing bottles at a woman, who also threw some back.>He is one of five England fans jailed and banned from the country following the violence at the start of the tournament.

UEFA has threatened to disqualify Russia and England from the tournament if violence between fans continues.
