Chris Eubank Jnr has said he to give his British title belt to Nick Blackwell - in a gesture of goodwill.

The boxer said, regardless of the outcome, it had been a "beautiful fight" with Trowbridge's Blackwell, holding himself "amazingly".

Eubank Jnr said, as a gesture he was going to go to the hospital to present him with the belt, as Blackwell's career was now over.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain Eubank Jnr said he was shocked when he heard Blackwell's criticisms of his conduct because the pair had exchanged pleasantries on social media.

He claimed there had been no hard feelings, but he understood why Blackwell may dislike him.

Eubank Jnr with his father the day after Blackwell revealed he had flatlined in the ambulance following the fight.

The duo argued there was compassion behind the decision to stop punching Blackwell to the head - saying they knew there was "no contest" by the 8th round.

When asked why he told his son to lay off the head shots, Eubank said the decision was "tactical but compassionate", because he knew how hard Eubank Jnr could hit.

Eubank Jnr vehemently denied he went out partying the night of the fight, saying it was "100 per cent not true", instead the boxer says he went back to his hotel for a meal with his family.

He added he even postponed a celebratory trip to New York until he found out that Blackwell was awake.
