A tree in Bristol has produced what could be a record breaking apple - measuring a healthy 13 inches.

It's been a good year for apples, but this took even the apple tree's owner by surprise.

Cynthia Mary Smith described the moment she made the exciting discovery:

But what makes this fruity find more remarkable is the tree in question is not usually known for its bumper crops. In fact, Cynthia told us the tree was about to be chopped down after only producing a handful of apples a year.
