Shake it all about....harvesting the Cornish Aromatic

At Helford Creek near Helston in Cornwall the fruit they're picking will be pressed and turned into juice and cider...and they have a rather jolly way of getting it off the trees:

The good news for apple growers this year is there's plenty of fruit on the trees.

At Charlton Orchards near Taunton they grow eating apples, many of them older, traditional varieties.

They've had a good crop too. It was a very different story last year when the weather which caused the flooding on the Somerset Levels ruined the fruit harvest too.
