MP says more should be done to save libraries
Cheltenham MP Martin Horwood will tonight question how decisions are reached to close libraries. Although the Hesters Way library in the town was eventually saved, he will say in Parliament that a government minister should have done more to help protect it.
Hesters Way library was one of four libraries facing closure in Gloucestershire that was eventually saved by volunteers. Community groups were awarded £2,500 for libraries at Painswick, Bourton-on-the-Water, Churchdown and Hesters Way.
Mr Horwood says answers are needed.
