Father appears before court charged with two counts of murder

David Wyn Jones appeared before court today charged with the murder of his wife and two-year-old son.

Caernarfon Magistrates Court heard that police had been called to the family's house on Glanmorfa Terrace on Friday 30th March, where the bodies of 34-year-old Suzanne and her son William were discovered.

Mr Jones, 42, was remanded to appear before Caernarfon Crown Court later today. No application for bail was made.

A mother and son found dead at their home near Porthmadog have been described as fantastic people. Suzanne and William Jones were discovered dead following a domestic related incident at their home on Glanmorfa Terrace on Friday.

42-year-old David Wyn Jones, Suzanne Jones' husband, is due to appear before Caernarfon Magistrates Court on Monday morning charged with their murders.

Neighbours' shock at Porthmadog deaths

Neighbours have been speaking of their disbelief after the bodies of a mother and a child were discovered at their home in Porthmadog.

Arthur Edwards, a retired factory worker who lives two doors from the house on Glanmorfa Terrace, said: "They kept themselves to themselves, as people do nowadays.

"I only fully found out what happened at 8.30 this morning when I received a text message and came out and asked."

David Thomas, 66, from the nearby village of Penmorfa, said he had known the mother since she was born.

"She was born in this house here, and she was a lovely girl who fitted into the community," he said.

"You could not wish for a better full-time mother with the children."

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman and child in North Wales.

Police were called to the house in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, at 9.20pm on Friday and the pair were declared dead at the scene.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene in Glanmorfa Terrace, North Wales Police said.
