Family pay tribute to 'kind and loving' man who died after being hit by lorry on A55 on Anglesey
The family of a man who was killed after being hit by a lorry on the A55 on Anglesey have said he will be "deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched".
Ciaran Michael Murray, from the Valley area, had exited his vehicle after being involved in another collision moments before.
North Wales Police received reports of the 35-year-old in the carriageway near to the Valley off-slip road just before 11pm on Thursday evening.
Emergency services attended but Mr Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, his heartbroken family said: "Ciaran was generous, loving, kind, and sensitive.
"He was a much loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
"As a family, we are understandably grief stricken, and we would like to thank those who have been in touch to offer condolences. However, we respectfully request that for now you allow us the opportunity to come to terms with this dreadful news in private."
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Mr Murray had been driving a black Vauxhall Corsa when he collided with roadside furniture at junction 3, Westbound. He then got out of the Corsa and was hit by an HGV.
Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit, who is leading the investigation said: "Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene and I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family.
"We are urging anybody who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam to contact us. We are particularly keen on speaking to anybody who may have seen the Corsa being driven prior to the initial collision.
"Our enquiries are underway and anybody who may be able to assist with the investigation should contact us immediately."
The road was completely closed from junctions 4 to 3 going Westbound but reopened shortly before 10am on Friday.
