Has this Welsh butcher made Britain’s biggest sausage roll?
Step aside Greggs, there is a new sausage roll king in town.
A butcher in Knighton, Powys, believes he has made Britain's biggest sausage roll.
Weighing in at 1kg and measuring 19 inches, the savoury treat made by Peter Smith and his colleagues is not your average roll.
Staff at A.J. Pugh butchers spent half an hour making it and said they "wanted to see how big we could go."
While impressive, it may not beat current records for the longest sausage roll made in the UK. A Yorkshire-based company does claim to match the 19 inch length, possibly downgrading the pastry from Powys to 'Wales' longest sausage roll' instead.
The roll from A.J. Pugh is not just a one-off either, the butcher's shop will continue making the rolls as long as people want them.
It costs £15, making it slightly cheaper than its Yorkshire competitor, and orders are already 'roll'-ing in.
Peter said: "We're getting orders in already so we'll carry on making them and they don't take me long to make."
