Further eight people die with coronavirus as Health Minister pledges to sort testing problems
There have been 8 further deaths from coronavirus, bringing the total of Welsh hospital patients who have died after testing positive for the disease to 1,282.
The new figures, released by Public Health Wales, comes as Health Minister Vaughan Gething promised to 'iron out issues' with testing in his press conference.
The figures also show that there has been 141 confirmed new cases of the virus in the country taking the total 13,556 - although there is likely to have been far more people infected with the disease.
ONS data - which include all deaths, in all places, where Covid-19 was given as a cause on the death certificate - reads at over 2,000, considerably higher than those reflected in the Public Health Wales figure.
Wales' Health Minister Vaughan Gething criticised the situation in Wales that has meant that various critical workers in Wales have had to travel as fas as Devon to be safely tested.
Mr Gething said there is testing available in Wales for critical workers and the government is hoping to "iron out any quirks" with remaining issues.
